Flensburger is Germany's most northerly brewery. Located within throwing distance of Denmark and close to the Baltic the brewery still draws water from their own well which is apparently supplied by a melting Ice Age glacier with its source in Scandinavia. Their Pilsener put the brewery on the map and remains the best selling beer to date. A hallmark of all bottled beer from Flensburger is the swing top closure hence their advertising strapline of plop-top.
